Who am I?

I'm Tamryn. I believe therapy is not about fixing people but about creating the kind of relationship where change can happen

I'm currently completing my clinical internship as part of my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology at The Seattle School. My work is rooted in attachment theory, relational psychodynamics, and a belief that we become who we are through presence, grief, and being witnessed.

I carry a background in writing, a deep love of language, and a desire to hold space for the in-between places, where we’re trying to figure out life is all about.

I have a special passion for everything to do with human attachment and psychoanalysts D.W. Winnicott and Wilfred Bion. I completed a year-long infant observation, where I observed a baby from a few weeks old to just short of a year. The purpose of this is to develop the observer’s capacity for attention, empathy, and understanding of early development and relational dynamics.

I believe that all of our adult behaviors are linked to and influenced by what we experienced in childhood and often we have no access to exploring this without what enfolds within a therapeutic relationship.
